Singtel has been awarded “Satellite Operator of the Year” at the Asia Communication Awards on 3 June. We took the honours ahead of strong contenders such as APT, AsiaSat, KT Sat, Measat, O3B, PT Telekom, Sky Perfect, Thaicom and Thuraya.
Organised by Total Telecom, the award winners were rigorously assessed by a panel of judges including experts from Deloitte, Forrester, Pacific Telecommunications Council, Olswang Asia LLP and Analysys Mason.
The judges were impressed with how we have demonstrated our commitment to investing in satellite technology through a combination of strategic partnership and in-house capability.
Singtel’s fixed and mobile satellite solutions have been transforming the operations of enterprises for more than 35 years. Our satellite services have also enriched the lives of many in remote areas where terrestrial network is not available.
Over the years, we have built up a comprehensive satellite footprint covering Asia, Middle East and Africa. We have three teleports pointing to more than 30 satellites, supported by our own extensive terrestrial network of more than 200 Points of Presence in over 160 global cities.
Through the Satellite One Network Integrated Centre (SONIC), we provide a one-stop, round the clock support for our customers to ensure that they are always connected. Thanks to our centralised Fault Reporting Management System (FRMS), we can respond faster than the industry norm.
“With the constantly changing business environment, our customers’ requirements and needs are just as dynamic. At Singtel Satellite, we are committed to working very closely with our customers to ensure that their business operations can keep up with their evolving demands,” said Lim Kian Soon, Head of Satellite Business.
